Project Introduction

The previous Master Plan for the Williston Basin International Airport was adopted in 2016, prior to the construction of the Airport. The 2016 Master Plan provided the planning framework for the development of the new airport which opened in 2019. The final phase of the initial build out of the Airport, construction of the crosswind runway, was completed in 2020.

The City of Williston completed a new comprehensive Master Plan to develop a framework to guide the maintenance and development of the Williston Basin International Airport for the next 20 years. The Master Plan will position the airport to meet changing user needs and accommodate potential future growth and economic development.
